Moved this shrub two years ago. First winter it was covered for protection in by 4b zone. Last fall I didn't have anything large enough to cover it. So I just made sure it was well covered with snow. No winter kill. Didn't prune first year to give it a chance to settle. Now I cut old wood to encourage new shoots that flowers the next season. The soil is sandy and amended with compost. It also receives sun all day.
